Decanter World Wine Awards 2025

JUNE:

Lis Fadis proudly took part in the 2025 edition of the Decanter World Wine Awards, the most prestigious wine competition in the world, where 248 top wine experts from across the globe evaluated over 18,000 wines from 57 countries.

Italy once again ranked among the most awarded nations, with Friuli Venezia Giulia standing out for the steadily rising quality of its wines. In this context of excellence, Lis Fadis distinguished itself by winning a Silver Medal with 92 points for its Mazzarot Malvasia 2023.

This dry white wine, made from 100% Malvasia Istriana, is a true expression of its unique terroir, defined by Ponca, the distinctive friable Eocene marl that imparts exceptional minerality, aromatic finesse, and vibrant salinity to the wines.

On the nose, it impresses with generous and refined aromas of lemon curd, ripe apricot, and yellow plum, followed by elegant hints of vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, it is complex and structured, yet graceful, with a well-integrated saline freshness that lengthens and shapes the sip.

It was precisely this balance of aromatic richness, mineral tension, and gustatory depth, supported by the Ponca soils of the Colli Orientali, that won over the judges—a wine that combines tradition and stylistic precision with a strong sense of place.

A result that confirms both the value of the territory and Lis Fadis’ ability to interpret it with elegance and authenticity.
